Kiva Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuta Isozaki; hereafter "Kiva") is pleased to announce that its web accessibility tool "UniWeb" has been introduced to the official TBS program page for the "Tokyo 2025 World Championships in Athletics" starting on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Tokyo 2025 World Championships in Athletics (Tokyo 2025 World Championships in Athletics)
Starting date: September 13 (Earth) - 21 (Sun), 2025
Venue: National Stadium, Tokyo
Address: 10-1 Kasumigaoka-cho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0013

In September 2025, the World Championships in Athletics will be held in Tokyo for the first time in 34 years, at the National Stadium, which was used as the main stadium for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This will be the third time in 18 years that Japan has hosted the event since Osaka in 2007, and Japan is the first country in history to host the World Championships in Athletics three times.

TBS has been broadcasting live since the 1997 Athens Games, and this will be the 15th time the Tokyo Games have been broadcast.
In the past, we have reported on the world's greatest performances, "human drama," and moments of human evolution by superstars such as Usain Bolt (men's 100m and 200m world record holder), Michael Johnson (men's 400m former world record holder), Sergey Bubka (men's pole vault former world record holder), and Allison Felix (the most medals ever won by a man or woman, with 20), who have fascinated the world.

We support the purpose of the Games, and will support the realization of an information barrier-free environment through our web accessibility tool "UniWeb" so that everyone can experience the excitement of sports equally, regardless of language or disability.

◾️What is Web Accessibility?

It means that "people with physical or mental functional limitations, such as the elderly or people with disabilities, can access and use information provided on the Web regardless of their age or physical condition." This is not a special accommodation only for people with disabilities or the elderly; anyone can be in the same situation as a person with disabilities.

  • Temporary injury or illness (e.g., car accident with arm in cast and unable to use arm, eye disease with eye patch and blindness, etc.)
  • Age-related vision loss (presbyopia, lens changes (yellowish, dark, blurred vision, etc.))
  • Age-related hearing loss
  • Eye diseases with high incidence (cataract, glaucoma, etc.)
*About half of the patients in their late 70s have cataracts with yellowing changes.
  • Foreign travelers (if a foreigner who does not understand Japanese is struck by an earthquake while traveling, can he/she obtain evacuation information, etc.)

◾️About UniWeb

UniWeb provides web accessibility features "on the day of deployment" by simply adding a single line of code to all web services.

In order to achieve equal website services for all, we aim to realize a society in which users in various situations, such as those with visual impairments or those who temporarily lose the use of their hands due to injury, can receive correct information through various uses, such as voice reading and contrast changes.

UniWeb will continue to make strong strides toward the realization of a society in which no one is left behind.
