Kiva Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuta Isozaki; hereinafter "Kiva") will sponsor the "Osaka Healthcare Pavilion Nest for Reborn" at the Japan International Exposition, Osaka, Kansai, which will open on Sunday, April 13, 2025, by providing the web accessibility tool "UniWeb".

The Osaka Healthcare Pavilion will bring together the wisdom and ideas of all of Osaka to create new value for future society from the perspectives of "life" and "health," as well as to communicate Osaka's vitality and attractiveness to people around the world.

◾️What is Web Accessibility?

It means that "people with physical or mental functional limitations, such as the elderly or people with disabilities, can access and use information provided on the Web regardless of their age or physical condition." This is not a special accommodation only for people with disabilities or the elderly; anyone can be in the same situation as a person with disabilities.

  • Temporary injury or illness (e.g., car accident with arm in cast and unable to use arm, eye disease with eye patch and blindness, etc.)
  • Age-related changes
  • Age-related vision loss (presbyopia, lens changes (yellowish, dark, blurred vision, etc.))
  • Eye diseases common in middle-aged and older adults (cataracts, glaucoma, etc.)
*About half of the patients in their late 70s have cataracts with yellowing changes.
  • Age-related hearing loss
  • Foreign travelers (if a foreigner who does not understand Japanese is struck by an earthquake while traveling, can he/she obtain evacuation information, etc.)

◾️About UniWeb

UniWeb provides web accessibility features "on the day of deployment" by simply adding a single line of code to all web services.

In order to achieve equal website services for all, we aim to realize a society in which users in various situations, such as those with visual impairments or those who temporarily lose the use of their hands due to injury, can receive correct information through various uses, such as voice reading and contrast changes.

UniWeb will continue to make strong strides toward the realization of a society in which no one is left behind.
