Since the revised Disability Discrimination Elimination Act, which mandates the provision of reasonable accommodations, came into effect in April 2024, interest in web accessibility has grown even further, and our company is also striving to improve the web accessibility of our corporate site.
In conjunction with the renewal of our corporate site carried out in August 2024, we had been progressing with designs focused on web accessibility. However, considering each page individually proved to be challenging, so we were exploring possible solutions. We learned about 'Uniweb', which is equipped with functions that comply with web content accessibility standards, and decided to implement it not only for ease of use for our customers but also to reduce construction time and costs.
We will continue to strive to provide a comfortable experience for our customers.

 

◾️What is Web Accessibility?

It is not a special accommodation only for the disabled or elderly, but anyone can be in the same situation as a disabled person.

• Temporary injury or illness (e.g., car accident with arm in cast and unable to use arm, eye disease with eye patch and blindness, etc.)
• Age-related changes
• Age-related vision loss (presbyopia, lens changes (yellowish, dark, blurred vision, etc.))
• Eye diseases common in middle-aged and older adults (cataracts, glaucoma, etc.)
  *About half of the patients in their late 70s have cataracts with yellowing changes.
• Age-related hearing loss
• Foreign travelers (if a foreigner who does not understand Japanese is struck by an earthquake while traveling, can he/she obtain evacuation information, etc.)
