Uniweb Begins Partnership with Cloud Commerce Platform 'ebisumart'

Kiva Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Kota Nojiri), which provides the web accessibility service 'Uniweb,' is pleased to announce its system partnership with Interfactory (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Nobuki Kabuki), which offers the cloud commerce platform 'ebisumart.'

With this partnership, EC operators using ebisumart can quickly and easily implement web accessibility features on their own EC sites by applying for Uniweb.

The web accessibility service 'Uniweb' allows seniors and people with disabilities to easily select and change features like voice reading, contrast adjustment, and text size to correctly understand the information on websites.

With the revision of the Act on the Elimination of Disability Discrimination coming into effect on April 1, 2024, various businesses across industries are required to improve web accessibility. Since launching Uniweb in December last year, 'Uniweb' has been implemented on over 115 websites within a month.

 

◾️What is Web Accessibility?

It is not a special accommodation only for the disabled or elderly, but anyone can be in the same situation as a disabled person.

• Temporary injury or illness (e.g., car accident with arm in cast and unable to use arm, eye disease with eye patch and blindness, etc.)
• Age-related changes
• Age-related vision loss (presbyopia, lens changes (yellowish, dark, blurred vision, etc.))
• Eye diseases common in middle-aged and older adults (cataracts, glaucoma, etc.)
  *About half of the patients in their late 70s have cataracts with yellowing changes.
• Age-related hearing loss
• Foreign travelers (if a foreigner who does not understand Japanese is struck by an earthquake while traveling, can he/she obtain evacuation information, etc.)
