What prompted you to consider web accessibility compliance?

One of the major reasons was the revision of the Disability Discrimination Elimination Act, and although we knew that we had to take some action, we had not fully decided what we should actually do.

 

How did you come to know about UniWeb?

We were thinking about how to respond to the revision of the Law for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, when our president, Kinoshita, and our advertising manager introduced us to UniWeb, and we decided to test it on our corporate website, where we post our social contribution activities and other information.

 

What were the decisive reasons for introducing the system from there?

As for the implementation, the most important reason was that it took less than one business day to implement the system, and the person in charge of the implementation told us that "the implementation process was very easy.

 

Have you considered implementing web accessibility in-house, such as with your own engineers?

Although we considered in-house, we decided that it would be better to implement UniWeb based on our overall judgment, taking into account development costs and implementation time.

 

Did you consider other accessibility tools like Uniweb?

UniWeb was very easy to install.

 

I understand that ACOM is actively involved in hiring people with disabilities. Have you seen any feedback from within the company since the introduction of UniWeb?

When the system was first introduced, some employees were surprised by the sudden appearance of icons, but after actually using the system, many responded favorably, saying, "I didn't know it was possible to do this!

To be honest, I didn't expect that angle, but I'm very happy about it.

 

Please tell us the number of days and man-hours until you adopted Uni-Web.

It took less than a day to install the system, and we have installed it on two of our sites: our corporate site and our sales site.

 

Were there any barriers to advancing the implementation internally? We would appreciate it if you could share how you progressed.

Since we had the background of the revision of the Law for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, and our president was aware of this, we were able to smoothly introduce the system without feeling any such barriers.

Also, before the introduction, I was a little concerned about the impact on the display speed of the website and garbled text, but after the actual introduction, there were no problems at all, and I think the introduction went smoothly.

 

Do you have any responses or worldviews that you are aiming for in the future in areas such as sustainability and the Disability Discrimination Act?

Since more than 95% of our customer applications are made via the web, we expect that a variety of customers will continue to visit our website.

As part of our social contribution activities, we hold "ACOM "Miru" Concert Story," a "barrier-free concert" that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from small children to the elderly, as well as by people with handicaps.

We have such information on our website, and we would like to further spread the word by having people use UniWeb.
