■ Background
As of April 1, 2024, the Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (*1) will enforce the provision of reasonable accommodations as an obligation for businesses, which had previously been required only for administrative agencies.
While all people, including those with disabilities and senior citizens, seek an environment where they can smoothly use information and services provided on the web, web accessibility remains unfamiliar, and according to a survey by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (*2), 99.7% of Japanese companies use the internet, but only 4.6% of them meet the JIS standards for web accessibility.
In light of the above circumstances, we have decided to begin recruiting UniWeb partners to promote the introduction of web accessibility for companies.
Through this partner system, we aim to provide equal websites and services to all people and to create an accessible environment that considers users in diverse situations. Specifically, we want to meet various needs, including for those with visual impairments and those who may temporarily be unable to use their hands due to injuries, by implementing accessibility features such as text-to-speech and contrast adjustments, ensuring everyone can comprehend accurate information.
Through this initiative, we will strive to provide more user-friendly services and build an environment where everyone can access information equitably.

◾️ Benefits of Introducing UniWeb
UniWeb supports web accessibility features on the day of implementation by simply adding a line of code to all web services. It has numerous integrations with popular carts and can smoothly connect even with fully scratch-built sites.
- Improving Customer Satisfaction
By ensuring that all users, including the elderly and those with disabilities, can accurately understand information on the website, we can improve usability and customer satisfaction.
By implementing UniWeb, control buttons will be displayed on the website, allowing users to utilize various functions themselves through the accessibility menu. The selected functions will be reflected instantly on the website being viewed. - Gaining Trust and Confidence as a Company
By demonstrating a commitment to creating websites that consider web accessibility, companies can enhance their image and increase brand value as trustworthy brands. Furthermore, it allows for a wide range of customization while maintaining the current UI and brand image. - Web Accessibility Assessment Report
Based on accessibility standards (WCAG), the web accessibility assessment will identify issues on the website (such as missing alternative text for images, contrast issues) and suggest specific correction methods. It allows for real-time evaluation of updates or changes to web pages, thereby providing a consistently user-friendly environment for diverse users.
